NOW...SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MOST OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE LATE EVENING HOURS. THE SNOW WILL STEADILY BEGIN TO TAPER BACK TOWARD THE TENNESSEE BORDER AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW SHOWERS WILL PRODUCE LOCAL ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AT TIMES FROM THE SMOKIES TO BEECH MOUNTAIN. THE SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE MORE SCATTERED IN NATURE EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE. TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING WILL MAKE ROADS INCREASINGLY SLIPPERY AND HAZARDOUS.
