AN AREA OF SHOWERS EXTENDING FROM NORTH CENTRAL INTO SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD EAST THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON. AT MID AFTERNOON... MOST OF THE ACTIVITY WAS LOCATED IN A 30 TO 40 MILE WIDE BAND EXTENDING FROM MEDFORD... TO BINGER... TO FREDERICK... TO VERNON. OTHER SHOWERS WERE LOCATED SOUTH OF THE WICHITA FALLS AREA. IN ADDITION TO THE SHOWERS... AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM OR TWO WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. RAINFALL RATES DURING THE AFTERNOON WILL AVERAGE GENERALLY LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH PER HOUR. THE AREA OF SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SLOWLY EAST DURING THE AFTERNOON... ALTHOUGH THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON... MOST OF THE ACTIVITY SHOULD REMAIN WEST OF A LINE FROM CHANDLER... TO WAURIKA. THE SHOWERS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A SLOW-MOVING UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM LOCATED OVER THE SOUTHWEST UNITED STATES. ELSEWHERE... A COLD FRONT THAT AT MID AFTERNOON EXTENDED FROM PONCA CITY... TO NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY... TO FREDERICK... TO VERNON WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE EVENING. AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH... TEMPERATURES WILL FALL FROM THE UPPER 70S AND LOWER 80S INTO THE 50S AS WINDS SHIFT TO THE NORTH AT 15 TO 20 MPH.
