.NOW...REGIONAL WEATHER DISCUSSION... AT 1 PM...A STRONG COLD FRONT HAD CLEARED MOST OF THE REGION... AND WAS JUST EXITING BRYAN COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. IMMEDIATELY BEHIND THE FRONT AT DURANT AND ATOKA...TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE MIDDLE 60S AND FALLING. MEANWHILE...AT THE OTHER EXTREME...NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA REPORTED TEMPERATURES STEADY IN THE MIDDLE 30S. AT MOST LOCATIONS IN BETWEEN...TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE 40S. THROUGH 4 PM...BRISK NORTH WINDS WILL AVERAGE 30 TO 35 MPH IN THE AREA WEST OF A LINE FROM STILLWATER TO CHICKASHA TO WICHITA FALLS. PEAK GUSTS WILL REMAIN NEAR 45 MPH FOR MUCH OF THAT REGION. SOME OF THE MORE EXPOSED LOCATIONS IN WESTERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA COULD STILL SEE AN OCCASIONAL GUST OVER 50 MPH...BUT THESE EXCESSIVE GUSTS ARE EXPECTED TO END AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES FARTHER AWAY...AND THE CENTER OF HIGH PRESSURE APPROACHES.
