AS NORTHWEST WINDS INCREASE THIS MORNING...SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS MAY SPILL OUT INTO THE ADJACENT NORTH CAROLINA FOOTHILLS AND INTO THE EXTREME NORTHEAST GEORGIA MOUNTAINS. SNOW AT RATES OF ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE TENNESSEE BORDER THIS MORNING...WITH GENERALLY ONLY A DUSTING FROM FRANKLIN TO ASHEVILLE TO EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE. HIGHER ELEVATION LOCATIONS WILL EXPERIENCE WIND CHILL VALUES AROUND MINUS 5 THIS MORNING...AND WIND GUSTS WILL INCREASE TO BETWEEN 35 AND 45 MPH SHORTLY AFTER DAYBREAK.
