.NOW...SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO SLIDE DOWN INTO THE PIEDMONT AND FOOTHILL REGIONS OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA...NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND AND THE WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. FAIRLY DRY CONDITIONS AT NEAR THE SURFACE WILL KEEP MUCH OF THIS ACTIVITY FROM REACHING THE GROUND...THOUGH EMBEDDED HEAVIER ACTIVITY WILL PRODUCE AT LEAST LIGHT RAIN FOR AREAS ALONG THE HIGHWAY 29 AND I-81 CORRIDORS. SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL ALSO MOVE DOWN INTO THE I-95 CORRIDOR OF NORTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA. THIS ACTIVITY WILL MOVE STEADILY SOUTHEASTWARD...ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH THIS AFTERNOON. ONLY A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF RAIN EXPECTED THROUGH 1 PM.
