.NOW...SHORTLY BEFORE 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON...AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED BETWEEN INTERSTATE 55 IN MISSOURI...AND INTERSTATE 57 ACROSS SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS. THIS AREA OF PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK OFF TO THE NORTHEAST...INTO MUCH OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS AND THE KENTUCKY PURCHASE REGION. THROUGH 3 PM...HOURLY RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM A FEW HUNDREDTHS UP TO ONE OR TWO TENTHS WERE A THUNDERSTORM MAY OCCUR. SOME COMMUNITIES MAY RECEIVE GUSTY WINDS UP TO 35 MPH ALONG THE LEADING EDGE OF THE SHOWERS. SOME COMMUNITIES THAT WILL BE AFFECTED INCLUDE FAIRFIELD...THE REND LAKE AREA...HARRISBURG AND CAVE IN ROCK STATE PARK ILLINOIS...AS WELL AS PADUCAH...MAYFIELD AND CADIZ KENTUCKY.
