.NOW...THE SHORT TERM FORECAST FOR WESTERN NEW YORK. AT 455 PM LIGHT SNOW COVERED MUCH OF THE REGION EXCEPT NIAGARA AND ORLEANS COUNTIES. THE SNOW WILL REACH THERE BY 530 PM. EXPECT THE SNOW TO LAST ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF AS IT PASSES ANY GIVEN LOCATION. IT WILL BE ENDING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN TIER BETWEEN 530 PM AND 6, THEN GRADUALLY TAPER OFF ACROSS THE REST OF THE REGION FROM SOUTH TO NORTH DURING THE EVENING. MOST LOCATIONS WILL SEE JUST A COATING OF ACCUMULATION, BUT SOME UNTREATED ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK. MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE CAUTION DURING THE EVENING COMMUTE.
