This is the reach of river between the south opening to the Chain of Rocks canal and downtown St. Louis. In south St. Louis county, Hoffmeister Avenue begins flooding east of Broadway. Four more floodgates are closed at Prairie Avenue, Madison Avenue, Mullanphy Street, and the railroad bed near Lesparance Street.
