.SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Sunday) Issued at 1214 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025
A high pressure system sits just to our northwest, on the KY/TN border. Calm conditions can be expected through the weekend while this high moves off and the following high situates itself in the south. We saw some substantial patchy fog across the area this morning, with many spots having visibilities under 1 mile. Patchy fog will continue to be a hazard on the weekend, appearing after midnight and lasting into the early morning. Plan for reduced visibilities on your morning commutes. Temperatures through the weekend will be closer to what we expect for this time of year: chilly nights and days where you need a jacket in the morning and evening but sweat in the afternoon.

.LONG TERM... (Sunday Night through next Saturday) Issued at 1214 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025
Into the work week, a high pressure system is forecasted to be the dominant feature, leading to the increase in our temperatures. They will level off in the low 80s for highs by mid-week, with morning lows in the low to mid 50s. High pressure also means no precipitation in the forecast for the period, so things will remain dry. This pattern looks to extend into late October, with below- normal rainfall and above-normal temperatures forecasted for middle Tennessee by the CPC. Despite the dry environment, minimum RH is forecasted to stay around 50% during the day, so we are not concerned with fire weather at this time.
