.DISCUSSION... Issued at 155 AM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025
High pressure has shifted to the northeast. Today will be another pleasant autumn day, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Lows tonight around 35-45 degrees. The next slight chance for showers north of I-70 arrives Friday as a weak disturbance passes over the Great Lakes region. Otherwise, a basically dry forecast is in store for the next week.
Temperatures this morning may dip down into frost development territory for some colder locations. The NBM is showing a 30-50% chance of dipping below 38 degrees east of I-57 for tomorrow morning. These temperatures along with good radiational cooling, frost formation is possible in the coldest locations.
Ridging holds in place through the weekend. Daytime temperatures will increase back into the upper 70s for the weekend, then possibly back into the 80s by mid week next week. Lows will also increase back into the 50s by the weekend.
