1924 - A severe icestorm struck central Illinois. It coated the ground with nearly two inches of glaze at Springfield. The storm caused 21 million dollars damage along with much hardship. Ice was on the trees until the 4th of January, and electricity was not restored until January 10th.

Sunset Colony is a Hutterite colony and census-designated place (CDP) in Marshall County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 142 at the 2020 census. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. It is in the western part of the county, 7 miles (11 km) by road west of Britton, the county seat.
