1841 - An October gale, the worst of record for Nantucket, MA, caught the Cap Cod fishing fleet at sea. Forty ships were driven ashore on Cape Cod, and 57 men perished from the town of Truro alone. Heavy snow fell inland, with 18 inches near Middletown, CT.

Coram is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Flathead County, Montana, United States. The population was 539 in 2010, up from 337 at the 2000 census. Coram lies 7 miles (11 km) southwest of the western entrance of Glacier National Park.
The community was named after William Coram, a lumberman. It began as a logging town on the South Fork of the Flathead River in 1905. Coram boomed between 1948 and 1953, during construction of the nearby Hungry Horse Dam.
