.DISCUSSION... Issued at 237 AM CDT Thu Oct 2 2025
Today through next Wednesday...High pressure along the east coast remains wedged into the forecast area throughout much of the forecast period. But it will weaken a bit across the area mid-week as its center drifts east off the eastern seaboard. Ridging aloft will break down today into Friday. This will allow low pressure aloft to build into the Lower Mississippi River Valley this weekend. However, it`ll weaken over the region into the middle of next week.
Rain chances will remain scarce across the CWA and primarily in the form of a few stray showers each afternoon through Saturday. The increased presence of the aforementioned mid/upper low across the region Sunday into next week, along with increasing moisture, will bring about some better rain chances across the forecast area. Still, with the isolated to scattered nature of convection, much of the area will remain dry. With this ongoing long duration stretch of below normal rainfall, we will be monitoring for any increased fire weather concerns in this dry weather pattern.
As far as temperatures are concerned, at to slightly above normal warmth will be felt again this afternoon as highs peak in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Come Friday and into the weekend, afternoon highs will be more seasonable, mid to upper 80s, as drier air advects east into the region. Conditions will warm through mid-week as moisture again subtly creeps back into the region. /19/
