.DISCUSSION...Current satellite and radar imagery show generally
clear skies across the forecast area with few to scattered cumulus
clouds over eastern OR and Central OR. The upper-level northerly
wave continues eastward today as the ridge builds over to the PacNW
tomorrow through Tuesday. This transitional pattern will give us
quiet benign weather with clear, sunny skies for the next couple of
days. However, Freeze Warnings will remain in effect tonight through
Monday morning for Central OR, Grand Ronde Valley, John Day Basin,
and Wallowa County with clear skies and light winds assisting in
radiational cooling. This pattern will also slightly enhance the
surface pressure gradients, which promotes northeasterly breezy
winds (15-25 mph) during afternoon and evening hours across the
Cascade gaps today before shifting more easterly Monday for the same
areas and eastern OR Tuesday. Daytime RHs will trend downward to the
20s and 30s across majority of the forecast area until Tuesday when
it further drops to the upper teens over John Day Highlands.
Overnight recoveries will mainly be good to excellent (55-100%).
The upslope flow will then bring showers along the crest of WA/OR
Cascades starting Wednesday afternoon, thanks to the low pressure
system over the OR coast. As the upper level trough gradually moves
closer to the PacNW, this colud bring shower chances over the
Cascade gaps Thursday before becoming widespread Friday onward.
Winds will be relatively light with occasional breezes, though
they might get gusty at 20-30 mph over the weekend with a low

period. Ceilings will continue to clear for those sites that are
still experiencing lingering clouds. Breezy 10-15kt winds expected
for KRDM/KBDN this afternoon, but light winds staying below 8 kts
