Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Fort Worth TX 1233 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

...New Short Term, Long Term, Aviation...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- An elevated grass fire threat will be present for areas near and west of I-35 tomorrow.

- Warm and rain-free weather will continue into next week with temperatures 5 to 15 degrees above normal.

.SHORT TERM... /NEW/ /Through Sunday Night/

Quiet weather will continue through the weekend as we remain beneath a stout upper level ridge. High temperatures will peak in the upper 80s to mid 90s with overnight lows in the mid 50s to mid 60s. While winds have remained rather light through this prolonged dry spell, slightly breezy winds are expected to materialize Sunday afternoon with wind speeds between 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20-25 mph. The elevated winds will combine with dry fuels and low relative humidity, resulting in an elevated fire weather threat for areas west of the I-35 corridor.

.LONG TERM... /NEW/ /Next Week/

Upper level ridging will continue to keep benign but warm weather in place through the upcoming week. As a result, no rain chances are currently forecast through at least the first part of next weekend, and high temperatures will remain 10-15 degrees above normal each day. Morning lows will be in the upper 50s to upper 60s with afternoon highs in the mid 80s to low 90s.

There is a fairly decent signal in ensemble guidance that rain chances could return to the forecast during the second half of next weekend or early the following week. This could be accompanied by some cooler temperatures, but there is still significant spread among ensemble members, given this is 8-10 days out. Stay tuned (and keep your fingers crossed)!
