Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Wilmington OH 600 AM EDT Sat Sep 6 2025

.SYNOPSIS... An upper level disturbance will lead to the potential for a few light rain showers today. High pressure and a drier airmass will build into the region through the first part of the upcoming week.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... An upper level trough axis will pivot east across our area through this afternoon as a cold front continues to shift off to our southeast. This will result in the potential for some light shower activity, especially across the southeast half of our area this morning. Any pcpn should taper off heading into this afternoon as the trough axis moves through. Temperatures will be seasonably cool with afternoon highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM SUNDAY/... Surface high pressure and a drier airmass will build into the region tonight into Sunday. This will lead to continued cool conditions. Lows tonight will be in the 40s with highs on Sunday in the 70 to 75 degree range.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/... A dry forecast is in store for the region as high pressure prevails over the Ohio Valley.

After a cool start with highs in the 70s Mon and lows in the 40s Sun/Mon nights, temperatures will warm to the higher end of normal for highs and the lower end of normal for lows for the remainder of the forecast period. The warmest day will be Thurs with morning lows in the mid-upper 50s and daytime highs in the lower 80s, some mid 80s over ne KY and eastern CWA south of Columbus.

.AVIATION /10Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... An upper level trough axis will shift east across the region today. This will result in mainly mid level clouds and some light shower activity. The best chance for showers will be this morning along and southeast of the I-71 corridor. High pressure will build into the area tonight into Sunday. With clearing skies and light winds, some river valley fog will be possible late tonight. However, with a less favorable northwest flow, will just allow for a period of MVFR br at KLUK. Otherwise, VFR conditions will prevail through the period.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
