.DISCUSSION... (This evening through next Tuesday)
WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: The majority of our most recent system has moved into Utah, but some showers and thunderstorms are still expected to linger through evening. Cool and dry for the overnight hours, with temperatures mainly in the low 40s. A few scattered showers return north of I-80 for Wednesday, ahead of our next system. Thursday and Friday will see much more widespread showers and a few thunderstorms across the entire forecast area as an upper low drops out of the Pacific Northwest and begins its passage across the US. Temperatures will also cool significantly behind this system, with highs struggling to reach 60 and lows in the 20s and 30s. Conditions dry out on Saturday, but temperatures struggle to rebound, only reaching the upper 60s by Tuesday.
FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: Increasing but still moderate confidence for the late week storm system. Moderate to strong confidence for temperature trends.
&&
.AVIATION...The bulk of the rain has finished but VCTS/VCSH remain at all sites except KTPH/KWMC through 00Z. Some gusty winds are expected at KTPH/KWMC/KBAM/KELY. No ceiling or visibility restrictions expected.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...Conditions will temporarily dry out this evening with cool temperatures through the period. However, another area of low pressure is beginning to take shape in the eastern Pacific and is expected to affect the weather across the area late Thursday through early Saturday. As a result, expect more wet weather late in the week with below normal temperatures. No fire weather concerns are noted during this forecast period.
