1924 - A severe icestorm struck central Illinois. It coated the ground with nearly two inches of glaze at Springfield. The storm caused 21 million dollars damage along with much hardship. Ice was on the trees until the 4th of January, and electricity was not restored until January 10th.

About Duck Hill, MS

Duck Hill is a town in Montgomery County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 619 at the 2020 census, down from 732 in 2010. Duck Hill is located on U.S. Route 51, midway between Grenada and Winona. Big Bogue Creek flows east and north of the town. The Lucie E. Campbell Gospel and Heritage Festival takes place each summer in Duck Hill.
