.SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Tuesday) Issued at 1229 PM CDT Mon Oct 13 2025

Currently, it is a lovely, clear Monday here in the mid-state. Highs will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s today, with possibly a few high clouds eeking in towards the evening hours. Tuesday will be very similar to today, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s west of the Cumberland Plateau, whereas elevated locations will see low to mid 70s. Temperatures will continue to warm into the work week thanks to High Pressure, so unfortunately we won`t be getting any closer to fall-like temperatures except in the mornings.&&

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday Night through next Monday) Issued at 1229 PM CDT Mon Oct 13 2025

Dry weather through the work week because of the aforementioned high pressure system lingering over us. That high pressure will flatten into the weekend, leaving us vulnerable to a trough moving in from the west. This trough appears to be of decent strength in the extended guidance, but it is too soon to say whether we will see any hazardous weather because of it. The strength and position of the trough continues to shift with subsequent runs of guidance, as it typically does at this time frame. Precipitation does seem possible on Saturday and Sunday due to the trough, which will bring an end to our dry stretch. As always, we will continue to monitor model trends as we get closer to next weekend.
