.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1205 AM CDT Sun Oct 12 2025
Mid/upper ridging centered in Mexico will drift northward and over Texas heading into the early-midweek timeframe. Despite a more prevalent se llvl flow developing, dewpoints will only slightly climb...but still anticipate low daytime RHs for most of the area considering the above normal high temperatures.
Heading into late Tue and Wed, another surface high pressure area dipping southward down into the MS Valley will backdoor another surge of drier air into the region.
Pacific shortwave will dig southward and carve out larger west coast trof early in the week. As it kicks out and tracks across the Rockies into the Plains in the second half of the week, it looks like it`ll suppress the ongoing ridge as it transitions eastward. Should there be enough of a llvl moisture return, upper level conditions shouldn`t be as hostile for some isolated precip development. Nothing that`d put much of a dent in the drought conditions, but it`d be something at least. 47

Daytime minimum RH`s bottom out between 30-45% into Tuesday, followed by a drier surge of air Wed. Light winds will still preclude Red Flag Warnings, but conditions are still favorable for fire starts should initiation occur. The Texas A&M Forest Service Fire Danger index is in the moderate-high territory. Please exercise caution when working with open flames/equipment that can cause sparks, especially in dry spots. 47
