Some light showers could be seen late this evening over NW GA that
may clip portions of eastern Jackson and DeKalb counties. These
are related to an upper wave located across the western Carolinas
as outer bands from Hurricane Imelda stay more confined to the
coast. Will keep low chances for rain over NE AL over the next few
hours but otherwise a dry forecast is ahead during the overnight
period as high pressure remains the dominating factor. The main
concern tonight will be the potential for patchy dense fog,
especially in and around river valleys. Overnight lows will fall
to the low to mid 60s with mostly clear skies and light easterly
winds.
The aforementioned disturbance will sink to our south on Wednesday
and drier air will move into the area. Temperatures will be
similar to what we saw today with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
We should see plenty of sunshine today as high pressure settles
over the northeast Atlantic.

Upper ridging and the aforementioned high will enforce a cooler
and drier airmass into the late-week period as highs drop to the
upper 70s/lower 80s across much of the area Thursday and Friday. A
weak disturbance is progged to develop near the Gulf Coast late
this week but any resulting showers/storms should be suppressed
well south of the area. With that in mind, will maintain dry PoPs
through Friday with sunny skies and light easterly winds. With
the drier air in place and lack of recent rainfall, fog should
become less likely each night.

(Friday night through Tuesday)

Surface high pressure situated along the coastal Mid Atlantic region
will provide an easterly flow across the Tennessee Valley into the
upcoming weekend. Under generally clear skies, seasonably mild to
warm condition are expected. Cool low temperatures Friday night will
range in the 50s. Highs both Sat/Sun should rise into the low/mid 80s
both days. Milder night lows are forecast Sat/Sun nights with lows in
the lower 60s.
An easterly flow rounding the high along the east coast, will become
more from the SE during Sun, Mon, Tue. This will begin to tap lower
level moisture from the Gulf and Atlantic, with an increase of clouds
as we go into the next week. This will return rain chances to the
area beginning Monday. With daytime heating and higher instability,
some thunder is possible in the afternoon and evening hours with this
activity. High temperatures the first part of next work week should
range in the lower 80s, with lows in 60s.

VFR weather should continue into the overnight for much of the
area. Given less clouds over NW AL, have kept brief period of MVFR
fog before daybreak at KMSL. Otherwise daytime heating should
result in scattered fair weather cumulus from the late morning
into Wed afternoon. Light winds overnight should become easterly
generally less than 5kt for much of the day Wed, then become light
and variable Wed evening.
