.DISCUSSION... Issued at 337 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

As of 3pm, skies have cleared over most of the area, and temperatures have climbed into the upper 70s and 80s (near 90 in parts of KS). Southeasterly winds are gusting 30-35 MPH, and are expected to remain breezy through the overnight hours.

CAMs continue to show scattered showers developing over central Nebraska tonight into early Sunday morning. There is just enough instability for a few rumbles of thunder...but certainly nothing severe. This activity should exit the area before sunrise on Sunday.

Sunday will be another warm day, although a cold front will push into the area, turning winds to the west and northwest during the afternoon. As drier air advects into the area, humidity may dip as low as 20% in western zones (Dawson, Gosper, Furnas Counties).

Chances for showers return Sunday evening. Many CAMs keep the initial development largely southeast of the area...along the front...but a few additional showers could develop further north late Sunday night into Monday morning. That said, coverage is expected to be limited and the chance for measurable precip is low (20%).

Low PoPs linger in southeastern areas during the daytime Monday, but most areas will remain dry. High temperatures on Monday are expected to be in the 60s...which is 15-20 degrees cooler than this weekend. A better chance for rain showers arrives in the area Monday night through Tuesday, thanks to moisture and lift ahead of a deep trough over the western CONUS.

Wednesday and Thursday trend warmer (possibly near 80 again on Thursday), but the trough will force a cold front into the area Thursday night into Friday. This will lead to another cooldown and additional rain chances in this timeframe.
