High pressure is gradually building back in across the region. This means hotter and drier weather is expected for the remainder of today and tomorrow. Highs will in the upper 80s to middle 90s through Wednesday. Otherwise, mostly sunny skies and dry conditions can be expected.

.LONG TERM... (Wednesday night through next Tuesday) Issued at 135 PM CDT Tue Sep 9 2025

Upper ridging with dry and warm conditions will continue into early next week. High temperatures will be 2 to 3 degrees warmer in the lower to mid 90s. A stronger lee trough will bring higher winds in the 10 to 20 mph range this weekend in the Big Country, along with with warmer nighttime lows in the lower 70s. Lows to the south will be in the mid and upper 60s.

VFR conditions are expected to remain in place for most of the TAF period. Some scattered and broken cloud bases around 2500 ft AGL will persist through about 20Z across KJCT and KSOA before returning to VFR levels. Otherwise, hot and dry conditions will persist.
