1970 - The greatest natural disaster of record for Arizona occurred. Unprecedented rains caused rivers in central Arizona to rise five to ten feet per hour, sweeping cars and buildings as far as 30 to 40 miles downstream. Flooding claimed the lives of 23 persons, mainly campers, and caused millions of dollars damage. Water crested 36 feet above normal near Sunflower AZ. Workman's Creek was deluged with 11.40 inches of rain in 24 hours to establish a state record. Moisture from Pacific Tropical Storm Norma led to the severe flooding.

Horace is a city in Cass County, North Dakota, United States. It is apparently 5–8 miles south of the city of West Fargo and about 8 miles away from Fargo. The population was 3,085 at the 2020 census, and was estimated to be 6,286 in 2024. In 2025, it is now 7,239. In fact, Horace is one of North Dakota's Fastest growing cities in the state. The city is a suburb of the Fargo–Moorhead metropolitan area. It is the 13th-most populous city in North Dakota. Horace was founded in 1882 at a time of widespread European-American settlement in the territory.
