.DISCUSSION... Issued at 222 PM CDT Wed Sep 10 2025
A much more quiet weather evening is expected tonight. No storms. Light winds will continue heading into the morning hours. Lows tonight will be mild with values in the 60s.
For Thursday, the warm sector will continue to advect north. Downslope SSW are expected across southwest Kansas. This will help us to have hotter highs with values in the low to mid 90s. Lows heading into Friday morning will be above normal with values in the mid to upper 60s.
More of the same is expected Friday. The downslope SSW flow pattern will continue across the FA. Highs will be mainly in the 90s for the FA. Above normal lows are expected once again with values in the mid to upper 60s.
Attention then turns to Saturday evening. A weak front is expected to pass through western Kansas. Storms may fire off the front. The NBM has 35% to 55% pops to account for this storm potential. Some of the storms could be strong, so is something to watch and see if this strong potential continues or not. Some minor good news is that we will see cooler highs with the storms and cloud cover around Saturday. The cooler weather will continue for Sunday around. Isolated storm chances may exist across central Kansas.
For the next business week, an upper level trof will start to approach the region midweek. Isolated storm chances will be could be associated with that. Temperatures during this period look to be fairly warm with values in the 80s for highs and 50s and 60s for lows.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/... Issued at 644 PM CDT Wed Sep 10 2025
A much quieter aviation night is forecast versus last night. A southeast wind at the onset of this TAF period this evening will continue through the night with a mostly clear sky and widespread VFR conditions. We will watch for some fog development up north, mainly north/northwest of our airports, so we will keep out of the TAF at this time. Thursday will continue to be quiet with a stronger south wind developing by late morning.
