Over the weekend, our forecast area will remain on the dry,
western side of a coastal low pressure system centered just off
the South Carolina coast. Tranquil weather conditions are
expected with persistent north to northeasterly flow.

As the trough over the eastern CONUS gradually moves eastward
during the upcoming work week, a very prominent 500 mb ridge is
expected to develop across the southern CONUS. A warming trend
will accompany the expanding ridge, and afternoon temperatures by
midweek may be just a few degrees shy of record values. There is
no relief in sight from the worsening drought conditions.

northeast winds.

Warm and dry conditions are expected to continue over the next week.
MinRHs will likely fall into the 30-40 percent range each
afternoon. 20 foot winds may approach 10 mph this afternoon, but
RH values should remain just shy of Red Flag criteria. Winds
should become lighter for Sunday and Monday. Outdoor burning
remains highly discouraged due to ongoing drought conditions.
