.DISCUSSION... Issued at 151 PM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025
High pressure at the surface and aloft remains in control over the region this weekend providing tranquil conditions with above normal temperatures. This general pattern is favored to continue the rest of this weekend and into next week. Mostly clear skies and light northerly flow will prevail. Highs in the 80s are expected Sunday through Tuesday with lows upper 50s to near 60.
For the middle of next week and beyond, our attention turns toward the Western Atlantic, and in particular offshore the Carolinas. There will likely be two individual tropical systems, the current Hurricane Humberto, and TD 9. To the north of that will be strengthening high pressure that is forecast to drop into New England later this week. The interaction of the individual storms on each other, and the surface high will certainly make greater uncertainty, in particular with TD 9`s forecast track. Guidance continues to favor limited, if any, impacts from these storms. In fact most individual ensemble members keep the region dry through the week. With that said the forecast will favor dry weather through the end of the period. Temperatures will likely end up near or slightly above normal.
