.KEY MESSAGES...
- Cold overnight temperatures in sheltered valleys through
  Wednesday.
- Dry through Thursday.
- Unsettled weather over the weekend including the potential for
  light mountain pass snow.

.SYNOPSIS...
Dry with chilly overnight temperatures and areas of
frost through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will then
increase slightly through the end of the week. The weekend
brings chances of unsettled weather and precipitation including
snow in the mountains.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
Wednesday and Thursday: Quiet weather is anticipated over the next
couple of days as a trough digs down the West Coast, eventually
forming a closed low. Wednesday morning will be another chilly one
with morning lows ranging from the low 30s to low 40s across the
region. Afternoon temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid
70s. Smoke and haze from the Lower Sugarloaf and Labor Mountain
fires will continue to impact the Wenatchee area. The low remains
just offshore Wednesday night and Thursday sending weak waves of
moisture across the Northwest. Increased moisture in the atmosphere
Wednesday night will keep temperatures a bit warmer Thursday morning
in the low to upper 40s. Afternoon highs Thursday will rise into the
mid to upper 70s making it the warmest day of the forecast period.
Friday through Tuesday: Cloud cover and chances for precip spread
from west to east across the region on Friday as the offshore low
begins tracking inland. Another low looks to drop down from the
north Saturday pushing cold northerly air into the Cascades,
Okanogan highlands, and North ID and dropping snow levels to between
3000 and 4000 feet  Another low drops down from the north delivering
a shot of cold air, dropping snow levels to between 3000 and 4000
feet Saturday night through early next week. Elevations above 4000
feet can expect a mix of snow and rain through the weekend.
Afternoon highs will be considerably colder Saturday onward in the
50s and overnight lows will range from the upper 20s to mid 30s.

.AVIATION...
12Z TAFS: VFR conditions with light winds will prevail. All TAF
sites but KEAT will remain at VFR. Conditions at KEAT have gone
down to MVFR due to smoke and haze moving through the area.
There is a chance for IFR conditions later in the morning.
Models have smoke moving out of the area around 20Z. There is a
small chance of precipitation in the afternoon and evening for
KEAT, but confidence is low so is not included in TAFs
directly.
FORECAST CONFIDENCE AND/OR ALTERNATE SCENARIOS: High confidence
in VFR conditions across the region except near KEAT where
active fires could result in MVFR conditions and low to moderate
confidence that IFR conditions will occur at KEAT at times in
the morning. Low confidence in precipitation over KEAT.
