08z surface analysis had low over southern SK with cool front into western MT and a pre-frontal trough into eastern WY. Water vapour loop had upper trough zipping across the northern Rockies as upper ridge starts to flatten as it shifts eastward. Clear skies over the CWA per nighttime microphysics RGB. Main concern this forecast is cool front.

Today/tonight, upper trough races eastward taking surface low across southern Canada which will drag dry cool front through the CWA. Behind it, 2-3mb/3hr pressure rises forecast with 20-35kt boundary layer winds. Cold air advection fairly weak with forecast Bufkit soundings supporting a 3-6 hour period of gusty northerly winds, perhaps gusting to 30-40mph from K2WX-KRAP per probabilistic guidance.
