Lows in the middle to upper 40s are anticipated overnight, though may be a little milder with the clouds lingering in the east. Increasing southeast winds are expected Sunday, becoming gusty in the afternoon. Highs should reach into the lower 70s well inland, with 60s closer to the lake.

.SHORT TERM... Issued 320 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

Tonight through Sunday night:

Northeast fetch and a convergence band will drive areas of sprinkles to light showers onshore this evening, mainly through Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties. This activity is expected to ease after sunset as winds come around to easterly and decrease the favorable fetch.

Dry conditions are then expected through tomorrow, with breezy southeast winds during the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 70s.

Sunday night, a cold front is expected to approach from the northwest, though low moisture and weak convergence along the boundary will likely limit widespread rain going into Monday morning.

.LONG TERM... Issued 325 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

Monday through Saturday:

Following the cold front Monday, conditions are expected to dry as the cold front slows it`s progress over Illinois, with a bit of a lull in rain until Tuesday. Then a shortwave is expected to move east along the surface boundary, firing off some additional rain Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

High pressure then moves in midweek with temps dipping toward normal, before warm advection returns and temperatures rise again heading into next weekend.
