.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/... Issued at 309 AM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

The front that slowly moved through the area the last few days has washed out. This front brought a wind shift to the area, with slightly less humid air. Overall, this did not change what we have experienced weather wise the last few days yesterday. Today, high pressure remains in place across the area as we are in what feels like late summer doldrums. This high pressure will lead to plenty of sunshine again today. With dry conditions and plenty of sun, we look to have another day of where we see a large diurnal swing in temperatures. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s are possible once again. See climate section below for record highs today and tomorrow.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/... Issued at 309 AM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025

Little change in the long term forecast as a blocking pattern keeps us in high pressure. While the shape of the block looks like it changes and attempts to break down into next weekend, confidence in timing of the block breaking is low. Models are pretty fast at breaking these ridges down. This means more high pressure for us, along with more sun. We can expect more of the same, where we have huge diurnal temperature ranges. Expect to see swings of 30 degrees from overnight to the afternoon.

Later in the period, we may see the pattern change. NBM forecast brings pops to the area at the end of the period. This is all dependent on what happens to the blocking pattern. While we may end up seeing some rain later in the period, my confidence in this occurring is very low. Overall, not very impactful weather through the long term.
