  winds, and pleasantly mild temperatures are on the way.
- A notable warm up to summer temperatures is expected by mid week,
  with some humidity increase as well.

High pressure remains positioned just to our west early this
morning.  With clear skies, and dry air, we have dropped to the low
to mid 40s over the entire CWA as of 1 AM. We look to once again see
some upper 30s lows in favorable low spots, with lower 40s fairly
widespread beyond those areas.
Today the high pressure will move over our region. This will bring
light winds, and less numerous cumulus in the afternoon, along with
highs reaching the mid 60s north to 68-70 central and south.
Tonight, the high pressure will continue to drift east, with light
southeast to south winds developing overnight. Temperatures will
drop to the 40s once again, especially east, where lows will once
again bottom out in the lower 40s.

Monday and Tuesday, we will transition from the cool high pressure
to a pattern of southwest flow aloft, and typical late summer
weather. Highs in the 70s are forecast both day, with lows in the
50s. In the transition, our area will be on the edge of a passing
short wave, with weak moisture transport. This will result in
lows pops 15-25% for western and northern areas Monday night. By
Tuesday and Tuesday night, this axis will shift east, but
remain a low chance (15-25%). Any rainfall looks to be quite
spotty, and unlikely to improve the dry topsoil conditions that
are in place.
Wednesday through Saturday, the southwest flow aloft, southerly
surface flow will continue to warm our region, and highs lower to
mid 80s will be common in this period, with some upper 80s possible.
Lows at night will continue to show a strong diurnal drop, but with
dew point readings rising to the 60s in this portion of the
forecast, lows are only expected to to fall to the lower to mid 60s.
Any rainfall in this outer period continues to look spotty, and
mainly well west of eastern Iowa.
