We are in a calm pattern with cool weather and clear skies for the
next several days. High pressure is located to our north, and we
can see the effects of the sinking air with satellites showing
clear skies across the entire state of Louisiana and most of
eastern Texas. Each afternoon temperatures will quickly rise in
the upper 80s to low 90s as clear skies and dry air allow for
efficient heating. At night temperatures will quickly drop into
the 60s. The 00Z sounding from yesterday shows a strong subsidence
layer at 750 mb. Steady north winds will continue to moderate our
temperatures and dew points.

The dry weather will continue for the rest of the forecast period
as ridging builds overhead. To our east, a tropical disturbance
will impact the east coast and will reinforce the northerly flow
over our area. For the rest of the next week, a lack of features
and a generally calm pattern will keep rain out of the forecast.
By the end of the week, moisture return will start to cause rain
chances to slowly increase with PoPs around 20% for the first week
of October. Temperatures will slowly start to climb this week with
highs easing back into the 90s for most of next week.
