.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1201 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025

The frontal boundary is currently well offshore. However, latest observations still show PW values up to 2.2 inches over the region. Therefore, lingering showers with a few thunderstorms are expected overnight, particularly along the coast and over the waters. Per water vapor satellite imagery and surface observations (temps and dewpoints), a drier airmass is starting to filter in from the northeast. This will result in decreasing cloud cover from north to south and lower humidity (dewpoints), especially for areas further inland today. This will lead to a comfortable early morning with lows in the low 60s to low 70s. This pattern of comfortable nights will continue through at least Thursday. While it will remain warm during the day; expect comfortable nights as temperatures drop into the 50s and low 70s (closer to the coast).

Beyond Thursday, a ridge of high pressure will strengthen over the Plains and slowly expand eastward over the weekend. This pattern will keep rain chances low, but will result in warmer conditions. Highs are expected to climb into the mid 90s.

Precipitation-wise, little to no rain is anticipated through most of the week. The only exception will be isolated activity along the coast where the frontal boundary is expected to stall, creating a focus for better moisture convergence.

.AVIATION... (12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 626 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025

VFR and NE winds throughout - 5-10 knots today, becoming light after sunset. There is a deck of clouds around 070 moving through the area that has merited some mentions in the TAFs, but will very safely stay VFR despite that.

.MARINE... Issued at 1201 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025

The frontal boundary responsible of bringing showers is currently extending well-offshore. With ample moisture, scattered showers with a few thunderstorms are expected to persist overnight. Drier air from the northeast will filter in today, reducing the chances of rain. This boundary will stall along the northwestern Gulf through most of the week, becoming a focal point for isolated rain/storms along the Upper TX coast. Light to occasionally moderate northeast to east winds will prevail through most of the week. With a moderate pressure gradient along the front, winds around 15 to 20 knots and seas up to 5ft are possible today. Winds will remain light to occasionally moderate before shifting to the southeast next weekend. Seas will generally stay low for the majority of the week.
