Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Wilmington OH 139 PM EDT Sat Oct 11 2025

.SYNOPSIS... Dry conditions and seasonable temperatures are expected through the upcoming week, with very little chance for rain. Temperatures may dip a few degrees past midweek with a replenishing dose of dry cool air for the second half of the upcoming workweek.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... A compact mid level low pressure system will pivot away from the region this evening into tonight, with midlevel ridging nudging eastward from the mid MO Vly by tonight through the short term period. Drier air will filter in from the N tonight into early Sunday before some easterly moisture return evolves by Sunday night.

The overall pattern spells tranquil conditions for the OH Vly for the foreseeable future. Highs today will top out in the lower 70s, with a mix of sun and clouds (more clouds favored near/SE of I-71). However, a trend toward clearer skies will evolve toward sunset and beyond, with just a few cirrus in the SE ILN FA overnight.

Lows tonight will dip into the mid/upper 40s amidst light NNE sfc flow. Some river valley fog will be possible late as the gradient relaxes a bit toward sunrise.

&&

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/... Dry and seasonably mild conditions are on tap for the short term period with highs in the lower 70s and lows Sunday night into the upper 40s once again. Abundant sunshine is expected during the daytime Sunday before some clouds encroach from the E toward sunset and beyond.

&&

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Quiet weather will be in place for much of the week with dry conditions expected Monday through Friday night. Cannot rule out some patchy frost Thursday morning in parts of central Ohio, however better chance will be Friday morning. Due to this added frost mention in parts of central Ohio Friday morning.

Heading into the weekend on Saturday a strong system will begin to approach the region. There is a good amount of model agreement for this system being a week out. There are still some details to be resolved with timing, however Saturday will likely be a little breezy out in front of this system and then gusty winds with the showers either later Saturday or into Sunday. This system is one to keep an eye on as it gets closer to see if it keeps showing this stronger signal.

&&

.AVIATION /18Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... A relatively narrow band of SCT/BKN VFR Cu will continue to push slowly SE through the remainder of the day as a weak cold front moves through the area. The best coverage of Cu will focus near KCVG/KLUK/KILN, with clearer skies favored farther N for KDAY/KCMH/KLCK. Skies will trend clearer past 00z, with just a FEW/SCT cirrus overnight into early Sunday. Some river valley BR, with MVFR/IFR VSBYs, will be possible at KLUK in the several hours around sunrise. Light NNE winds around 5-7kts or less will prevail through the period.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.

&&

.ILN WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... OH...None. KY...None. IN...None.
