.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1233 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025
Tonight
A shortwave trough will move just to our west and north tonight. Soundings remain rather dry, so not anticipating much of a chance of rain. Low temperatures will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s.
Tuesday through Friday
A 500 mb ridge of high pressure will keep the area dry and unseasonably warm (10 to 15 degrees above normal). High temperatures will primarily range from the upper 70s to mid-80s. There might be a small chance of showers just west and northwest of the area on Wednesday night. Other than that the Upper Midwest looks to remain dry.
Next Weekend
The 500 mb ridge slides just far enough east that some shortwave troughs ejecting out of the western longwave trough may bring some rain chance to the area. In addition, there are some indications that a surface front may meander across the region. High temperatures will range from mid-70s to mid-80s.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 1227 AM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025
Fog has already begun developing for portions of western Wisconsin. This trend is expected to continue through the overnight with some areas seeing dense fog at times. Most of the fog is expected to be east of the Mississippi River. There is some uncertainty due to cloud cover, around 20kft to 25kft, as to how expansive this fog could be. Due to this uncertainty, have elected to keep BCFG in the KLSE TAF and will continue to monitor trends. Light southeast winds expected through the TAF period.
