.SYNOPSIS... Dry conditions expected through the upcoming week. Above normal temperatures through mid-week will then lessen to more seasonable values.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... KEY MESSAGES:

- Patchy fog this morning. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Building high pressure resulting in limited cloud coverage, and combined with light winds has resulted in areas of dense fog this morning, and an Dense Fog Advisory was issued for areas where coverage warrant an advisory. Elsewhere, a Special Weather Statement was issued to address the more isolated areas of dense fog. MRi values that support this, as well as forecast analogs.

As surface high pressure establishes across the Great Lakes, dry conditions will be maintained and temperatures will trend warmer with increasing heights today.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM MONDAY/... KEY MESSAGES:

- Dry and warm conditions continue - Increased cloud coverage Monday ----------------------------------------------------------------

Dry conditions continue Monday as high pressure remains in control. The only notable difference will be an increase in cloud coverage from the southeast with moisture extending north from now Tropical Depression Nine. Highs are thus likely to be a few degrees cooler than Sunday, especially south and east of Pittsburgh where cloud cover resides for the majority of the day.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/... KEY MESSAGES:

- Continued dry conditions - Temperatures back to near normal by midweek -------------------------------------------------------------------

Although there is always some uncertainty when tropical systems are thrown into the mix (TD9 set to approach the Carolinas by Tuesday and Hurricane Humberto remaining well offshore), overall, general model consensus points towards continued dry conditions with upper ridging. Latest NBM guidance shows a probability of just one hundredth of precipitation to remain 5% or lower during any 24 hour period until almost the second week of October. Above normal temperatures will drop to near normal values by mid-week as heights lessen. There is fairly high confidence in this as 25th-75th spreads are largely around only 3 degrees by this time. .AVIATION /12Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... IFR to LIFR fog is expected to continue for the first couple hours of the 12z TAF cycle before dissipating. VFR is expected thereafter through the period under building high pressure.

.OUTLOOK.... VFR is expected through late week under high pressure.
