...New AVIATION...

.NEAR TERM... (Tonight) Issued at 219 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

A surface cold front is finally moving into the Tennessee Valley this afternoon, with a bulk of the shower and thunderstorm activity now displaced to our south and east. Some intermittent stratiform rainfall will likely persist through the remainder of the afternoon, before dissipating by the early evening hours. High pressure will build in this evening and overnight, allowing cloud cover to gradually diminish this evening and especially after Midnight. This will allow for some radiational cooling, especially with a cooler, drier air mass filters into the area. As a result, lows will be able to drop into the mid to upper 50s in most locations by early Sunday morning. Due to the moist boundary layer conditions from recent rainfall some patchy fog will also be possible during the predawn hours.

.SHORT TERM... (Sunday through Tuesday) Issued at 1036 AM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

High pressure will build into the region from the north and west in wake of the front, with a notable autumn-like air mass change for early this week. In short, it`s going to be a wonderful taste of early autumn, with lower afternoon relative humidities in a slightly cooler and drier air mass. With ample sunshine, temperatures will climb into the low to mid 80s Sunday and Monday and the mid to upper 80s on Tuesday -- with overnight lows dropping into the upper 50s to lower 60s with good radiational cooling at night.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Monday night through Friday) Issued at 1033 PM CDT Fri Sep 5 2025

Guidance continues to show high pressure will control the regions general weather for the upcoming work week. Dry weather should continue for the period. Low temperatures for the period should range from the upper 50s to the low/mid 60s. High temperatures Tuesday should range in the 80s.
