Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Wilmington OH 619 AM EDT Sun Sep 28 2025

.SYNOPSIS... High pressure will lead to dry and mild conditions through the middle of the week. Cooler temperatures closer to climatological norms will be found for the latter half of the week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Surface high pressure centered over the lower Great Lakes region will continue to provide sunny skies and light winds, allowing temperatures to rise uniformly and top out between 85 and 88 degrees.

&&

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY/... While the surface high slowly drifts east during this time, an upper level high will be centered just west of the CWA. Winds will be light from the east-northeast overnight, then pick up during the day to a more typical 5-10 mph. Easterly winds are a drying downslope wind for our area, so clear skies will continue for Sunday night and Monday. Lows Sunday night will be in the upper 50s, with daytime highs on Monday being fairly uniform again, ranging from 84-87.

The clear sky and light wind will continue to promote dense valley fog during the predawn hours that should quickly dissipate within an hour or so after daybreak.

&&

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/... High pressure and dry air in place across the region Monday night, continuing into the day on Tuesday. Low pressure to the southeast supports northeasterly winds throughout the day with another warm afternoon in the low to mid 80s. The one limiting factor for warmer temperatures will be the increasing clouds spreading northward from the upper level low and tropical moisture.

Wednesday and Thursday, northeasterly winds increase, funneling relatively "cooler" air from the north into the area. This allows for a decreasing trend in high temperatures from the mid 80s back into the lower 80s and mid 70s. The coolest day of the week will likely be Thursday.

To wrap up the work week, surface high pressure will encompass much of the eastern CONUS, centered over the northeast US. Local winds will trend more southerly Friday and Saturday with high temperatures climbing a few degrees warmer once again. Rain chances have been completely removed from the long term period, with dry conditions persisting beyond Saturday.

&&

.AVIATION /12Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... VFR conditions will be found with high pressure producing clear skies and light wind. While it will be aob 5kt, winds will generally be from nnw during the day and ese overnight.

LUK will have MVFR fog develop towards 08Z and break up shortly after daybreak.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.

&&

.ILN WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... OH...None. KY...None. IN...None.
