.NEAR TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 256 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

Generally dry and warm conditions are expected today with more zonal flow forecast aloft and surface high pressure overhead. Highs are forecast slightly warmer than yesterday, ranging from the low to mid 90s. However, the drier air mass in place should keep forecast heat indices only a few degrees warmer than the actual temperature. Lows overnight tonight are forecast in the upper 60s to low 70s.

.SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM... (Saturday through Thursday) Issued at 256 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

A weak frontal feature looks to move across the region this weekend, potentially increasing PoP chances. East to northeast flow at the surface will confine most convective activity either offshore or across southern GA, the FL Big Bend or coastal parts of the FL Panhandle. This feature then stalls across the FL Peninsula and northern Gulf on Monday through midweek. This will lead to unsettled weather and increasing rain chances each day, primarily impacting the aforementioned areas. From Monday onwards, northeast flow will suppress moisture advection, leading to sub-70 degree dew points across the region. Areas near the Gulf will hover around 70 Tds leading to the best precip chances being near the coast.

Expect daytime highs to generally be in the low to mid 90s this weekend dipping into the mid and upper 80s next week as unsettled weather and cloud cover suppress high temps. Overnight lows follow a similar cooldown pattern with temps initially in the low 70s this weekend dipping into the mid to upper 60s by midweek.

.AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 118 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

VFR conditions are expected through the period.

&&

.MARINE... Issued at 256 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

Winds will be light to gentle out of the east through this weekend. As a cold front moves through the waters Sunday and Monday, winds will become northerly to northeasterly and increase. Cautionary to advisory level winds will be possible beginning Monday night lasting into mid week, as the pressure gradient tightens between a low off northeast Florida and a high over the Appalachians. Seas will also respond and build to 2 to 4 feet.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 256 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

Outside of isolated showers and storms, no significant weather is anticipated through the weekend. Dispersions will be generally good across the area over the next several days. Dispersions may be high in the southeast Big Bend Friday and over the Panhandle and Big Bend on Sunday. Transport winds will generally be easterly around 5-10 mph Friday, then becoming northerly to northeasterly through the weekend.

&&

.HYDROLOGY... Issued at 256 AM EDT Fri Sep 5 2025

Little in the way of rainfall is expected through the next several days. Rainfall totals will be less than an inch overall across the area. There are currently no flooding concerns.
