.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1233 PM EDT Tue Sep 9 2025
Key Messages:
1. Mostly clear and dry conditions continue with high pressure in control.
2. Gradual warming trend into the weekend. Beautiful early September weather.
3. Low isolated to scattered rain chances begin to show up in the forecast for the mountains early next week as low-level moisture increases and weak troughing sets up across the Appalachians and East Coast.
Discussion:
We remain dry and mostly clear through the end of the week with high pressure in control of our weather. Winds remain light and patchy valley fog, especially near lakes and river valleys, will be expected most mornings. Fog will dissipate each day by around 10 AM.
The weekend forecast continues to be dry although temperatures will begin to warm as upper-level ridging builds in across the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys. Dry weather forecast for all of the outdoor events late this week and weekend across the region.
Low-level moisture begins to increase early next week with 10 to 20 percent probabilities of a shower across the higher elevations. Most areas remain dry with no measurable rainfall during the next 7 days.
