1961 - Rain changed to a record early season, heavy wet snow over the southern mountains of West Virginia. Leaves were still on trees, resulting in the worst forest disaster since the fires of 1952 and 953. One to two feet of snow fell near Summersville and Richwood.

About Bennington, Idaho

Bennington is a census-designated place in Bear Lake County, Idaho, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 236. It is located in the southeast corner of the (State of Idaho) on U.S. Route 30 about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Montpelier and 12 miles (19 km) south of Georgetown.
